Greetings from Jordan!
We're here on the final leg of our journey through the Middle East, and today we're exploring the ancient wonder that is the Rose City of Petra. We trekked down into the ancient city by way of donkeys, mules and dromedaries, guided by the trusting hands of the Bedouins who have inhabited this area since the time of the ancient Romans.
The landscape is almost surreal...completely arid, barren, strikingly beautiful. You really can't help but wonder how they managed to survive in ancient times in such a harsh environment.
I made a short video about the last week of our journey before we head to relax at the Dead Sea for a few days, before finally returning home to Canada:
Things to look out for in the week ahead - new trips! We're on the verge of completing a number of new itineraries, including Sicily & Malta, Cornwall & the Isles of Scilly, our 2020 Italy: North to South program, and several others.
Lots more to come in the weeks ahead...stay tuned!
