Greetings from Thailand!
First of all, I want to say thank you to everyone who wrote in or called following last week's newsletter; it was incredibly warming to hear from you and to reaffirm that we are indeed all in this together! Grounded though we may be, we'll keep the energy high and the mood positive. I think a shared pool of empathy in trying times is a hallmark of a true community, and I'm deeply grateful to be connected to this one that we're creating here together.
A number of people have asked me recently what kind of 'criteria' would be required for us to be able to run a trip again. While there's a lot of unknown unknowns involved, we have a rough sort of checklist in mind that we're looking out for, which I've shared here:
And speaking of trips, I'm very pleased this week to be releasing our return to Egypt, scheduled for November 2021. It was our last trip here at Wheel & Anchor before the situation spiralled out of control, and what a trip it was! All of our group agreed that Egypt portion was particularly outstanding, both from the perspective of the sites and sights we got to see, and the incredibly warm hospitality we received from our Egyptian hosts.
We've made some slight alterations to the program, but only minor ones. Perhaps the most notable difference will be that the Grand Egyptian Museum will be finished for this one! It truly looks like it will immediately join the ranks of the world's must-see museums, and I think will add even more wonderful context to the historical and archeological wonders you'll get to see throughout the trip. You can check out the full itinerary below.
We've also got the next instalment of our Future Travel Forum series coming up next week, followed by the program launch webinar for the aforementioned Egypt program the week after. Please join us if you're interested and able for some laughs and banter 🙂
Cheers!
P.S. If you're wondering about the Israel and Jordan portions of our previous trip, we'll be releasing that shortly as a separate 'module' that will happen just before the Egypt segment. Stay tuned!
