Member Questions about our Tuscany LiveAway + Things Upcoming

Greetings from Thailand!

This past week we officially launched our Tuscany LiveAway, a program we've been putting together for some time and one I'm really, really looking forward to. I was joined by my good friend Francesco, who is from Cortona and whose family owns several of the villas we'll be staying at while on this program.

I actually met Francesco here in Thailand, where he owns and operates one of the best seafood restaurants on the island I call home. He's one of those 'salt-of-the-earth' type folks with a deep connection to food that comes from his childhood in Cortona, where he and his family still produce their own cheese and charcuterie today. Here in Phangan he spearfishes daily to catch the fish himself that he then cooks and serves at his restaurant...a restaurateur in the purest sense.

He was a bit nervous that his English wouldn't be good enough to do the webinar, but I think he did just fine, and he gave us a great overview of why Cortona is the perfect spot to spend a few weeks relaxing. You can check out the replay here if you're curious. I've also answered a few of the questions I've received about the trip, including if you can do just one or both parts, the pandemic situation in Italy, dates for a second LiveAway there in October, and more in this week's video.

In the week ahead we'll be launching our Boating the Canal du Midi program, where we'll take 6-8 person houseboats and slowly make our way down France's famed series of locks and canals that connect the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea.

If you're into idyllic French villages, charming boulangeries, and unique ways to travel that perfectly capture the ethos of slow travel, this trip is one well worth your consideration. Join us to banter and learn more with the registration link below.

In the bigger picture, the battle rages on in pockets around the globe, and I think we're quite fortunate as Canadians to be where we are with the situation at home nearly under control. The summer seems to me a good time to disconnect from the news and negativity, reconnect with friends and loved ones, and wait to see what the fall has in store.

I remain optimistic and as committed as ever to being ready for travel's return...be safe and do reach out should you have any questions or concerns.

Cheers!
