Greetings from Limassol, Cyprus!
This is our first newsletter from our new email software, a switch that was necessitated by the many messages we were getting from members who had stopped getting our newsletter due to problems with our previous software.
So if this is the first newsletter you've received from us in a while, welcome back!
We actually haven't missed a week since we began in January 2018 - 219 weeks, and counting. However it seems our tech couldn't quite keep pace with our commitment, and I sincerely apologize for our absence - let's get you caught up on everything you've missed.
(And if you've been with us this whole time, hello and thanks!)
I'm writing to you from Cyprus because we've just begun our second LiveAway program here, following the end of our spectacular month in Madeira.
It was balmy, beautiful, and delightfully charming, and from the feedback I've received so far, everyone had a wonderful time.
I too had a blast and have been counting my blessings, as it is truly quite special for me to see these LiveAways come to life.
We dreamed them up in the midst of the pandemic summer of 2020, when it seemed like travel might be ages away (note...it was) and when the uncertainty made it were very difficult to coordinate future trips.
So these trips represent the return of travel and all I love about it, the fulfillment of our mission to bring travellers together, and the triumph of perseverance over adversity. Much to celebrate!
And for those who couldn't make it this year, fear not...next year might be even better.
We've just relaunched our Madeira LiveAway for 2023, which you can find in your newsletter; the program is very similar to this year's, with a few minor improvements and additions, including a special 'active' portion for those keen to take advantage of Madeira's fantastic hiking and walking trails.
But the big news is that we're going to introduce a sort of 'mix & match' option for next year's LiveAways, which works like this:
- 4 weeks is the minimum stay
- You can add on 2 week segments after that
- You could do all 4 weeks in one place, or 4+2+2 etc
You could do this in southern Europe, in some combination of Madeira, Cyprus, Malta, and Sicily...
Or if going a little farther abroad next winter speaks to you, you could join us for Koh Samui (Thailand), Bali, and New Zealand.
Unless something dramatic happens between now and then that allows you to be in two places at once, you will have to choose, as they will be happening concurrently. I've done my best to make this choice as difficult as possible for you 😉
I'm of the opinion that if you held off this winter due to all the chaos, you deserve an extended break in the next one, and your presence is (in)formally requested.
Apart from LiveAways there's lots more to come, including parts 3 & 4 of our Iberian Sojourn trip, Japan and South Korea, and more. And as always, I love to hear your thoughts and comments, so do reach out and say hello.
Cheers!
Anna
