Greetings from Koh Samui & Announcing Scotland

Greetings from Thailand!

We kicked off our Samui LiveAway with a marvellous few days in the hustle and bustle of Bangkok, taking in sunsets from rooftops and from the Chao Phraya river, stuffing ourselves with some excellent Thai cuisine, and getting acclimated to the heat.

There are a million things to see and do in Bangkok, and the energy of the city reflects that. I always enjoy being there for a few days when I return to Thailand, but nothing compares to getting back to the islands. After buzzing around there for a few days, we've now arrived in the sunny south of Thailand and are settling into a completely different pace here in Koh Samui.

I've always felt part of a successful trip is correctly judging and synchronizing with the 'vibe' of the place you visit; it's tough to be fully relaxed in a busy metropolis and it's equally hard to be go-go-go when you're on a tropical island.

We've got lots of excursions on the schedule while here, but they're spaced out so that we can do our thing on 'island time,' which is something to be embraced rather than resisted. We have lots of coconuts, cocktails, and conversations ahead...photos and more updates to come next week.

On the trips front of things, we've had to juggle things around a bit again. We had planned to do our Costa Rica 2024 webinar this upcoming week, but we had a scheduling conflict with our 2023 Costa Rica program (happening now!) so we've had to bump that to the following week.

In its place I'll be presenting a very unique program through the Scottish Highlands via her system of lochs and waterways, on a very difficult-to-get vessel that is the only one sailing this route.

We had been working hard on trying to get a Scotland program set up for 2023 to combine with our Ireland trip, but in the end it proved to be too difficult, as I mentioned in a previous newsletter.

So my apologies to those who were keen on going this year; if you can wait a bit longer, this particular Scotland itinerary is very special. Join us for the webinar on Jan 19, and look out for the full itinerary in next week's newsletter.

Speaking of our Ireland trip this coming September - it's now completely full and we are trying to see if we can get a second departure arranged. I'm not certain given the challenges we had getting space for the first one, but stay tuned and do reach out to Barb or Paula if you'd like to be on the waitlist for that.

Lastly, we'll also be releasing our second Morocco trip next week...it's a big week ahead 🙂 And following these programs, we'll be releasing our 2024 LiveAway roster. So, if you'd like to join us in Samui or Bali or elsewhere next winter, check this newsletter in the weeks ahead.

That's all for this week; lots more to come. Be warm, be well and stay in touch...this magical year is just beginning.

Cheers!
