The Upper Mekong: Laos & Thailand
Join Wheel & Anchor on an eighteen-day journey down the Upper Mekong, from the temple cities of northern Thailand into Laos. We'll board a small ship at the Golden Triangle, travelling downstream past whisky distilleries, Luang Prabang's 328 steps at dusk, and Asia's most argued-over dam. The trip ends in Vientiane, a capital so low and quiet it barely feels like one. There are few better ways to understand a country than to travel its founding river, slowly.

- Private transfer between the Chiang Mai Airport (CNX) and the trip's first hotel in Chiang Mai upon arrival on January 9, 2028.
- Private transfer between the trip's last hotel in Vientiane and the Wattay International Airport (VTE) upon departure on January 26, 2028.
- All transportation as described in the itinerary
- 7 hotel - nights accommodation with daily breakfast
- 10 nights accommodation abroad on a privately chartered ship with daily breakfast, lunch, tea time, dinner and beverages in the chosen cabin category with unlimited local soft drinks and local beers, spirits and water, coffee, tea and snacks are available throughout
- Guided sightseeing through cities mentioned with English-speaking local guides
- Lunches or dinners as indicated in the itinerary (noting that the actual days where meals are included may be changed, but the total number of included meals will not)
- All local taxes, porterage fees, service charges, port charges, park fees, and gratuities.
- Entrance fees as specifically indicated in the itinerary
- Services of a Wheel & Anchor host from arrival in Chiang Mai until departure from Vientiane
- International airfare and air taxes
- Arrival and/or departure transfers for members arriving or departing on dates different than the trip's start and end dates
- Trip cancellation and travel medical insurance which is highly recommended and may be quoted to you by our office depending on your province of residence
