November 3rd, 2018

Well, it certainly was a whirlwind week at Wheel & Anchor!

It was wonderful to meet so many travellers this week, both at the Zoomer Show, and in our Wheel & Anchor group that went to see the terrific Come From Away musical.

As mentioned, I'm off to World Travel Market to get the latest pulse of the global tourism and travel industry, connect with our partners from around the world, and scout new experiences to bring to Wheel & Anchor.

Last Chance To See: Why Venice Is Unmissable – And Vanishing Fast

November 2nd, 2018

It’s a glorious day to be in Venice. You’ve arrived by train with a full day to enjoy the city, leaving the mainland and heading out over the nineteenth-century railway bridge into the sea. Venice and its lagoon open up before you, with a handful of its 177 islands within view - and there’s water, water everywhere.

Sorry, Your Curry Isn’t The True Taste Of India. Try This Instead.

November 2nd, 2018

It’s your first day or exploring the open-air markets of Delhi, and you’re sniffing the air like a bloodhound. India is the home of some of the tastiest and most aromatic food in the whole world, you learned that when you researched this whole incredible trip, but it’s another thing entirely to breathe it in.

Dancing Skies, Glaciers & Other Reasons to Visit Greenland

October 31st, 2018

Greenland is not the most obvious holiday destination, but it’s certainly a remarkable one. An ice sheet covers 80% of its surface, making it the least ideal choice for those who are looking to spend a holiday frolicking in sun-kissed beaches or basking in the bucolic beauty of the countryside.

Hello from the Zoomer Show!

October 27th, 2018

Coming to you from Toronto this week!

Only a short week ago we were wrapping up our fantastic tour of Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia, and we're already starting to think about trips in front of us.

I'm here with the Wheel & Anchor team for the Zoomer Show:

We were able to arrange - with a moderate degree of difficulty - to have some fantastic wine brought in from Georgia to be sampled here.

Berlin’s Tempelhof: From Wartime Airport To People’s Park (On An Epic Scale)

October 27th, 2018

You have a few days in Berlin, before your river cruise down the beautiful Elbe starts winding its way south. Meanwhile, the world’s most famous formerly-divided city, in all its renewed beauty, is all around you, and there’s too much to see.

Where to even start? The Brandenburg Gate? The poignant remains of the Wall? The beautiful, stately Reichstag building?

But you have a friend who lives here.

Lisbon & Porto: Two Underrated Destinations on the Iberian Peninsula

October 22nd, 2018

A European tour often conjures images of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Eiffel Tower, or the Sagrada Familia Basilica. Portugal is certainly not as immensely popular among tourists as its neighbors, Spain, Italy, and France, but its unique mix of attractions deserve their time in the limelight.

Tour Reflections & Event Anticipation!

October 20th, 2018

We have just wrapped up our incredible tour of Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia, and what an experience it was! Great group, great food, great wine, mindblowing mountain vistas...really just incredible.

I've shared a few thoughts in a short video here:

Next week I'll be giving my full review of the experience of travelling to this incredible region, but I can definitely say I'm keen to go back.
